Graduation Fit for my Master's Degree
a woman dressed in white is destined for greatness
Here a quick insight to 🚪 how I chose my graduation outfit. In the past, I wore semi-formal dresses for all my graduations. This time around I was seeking a more powerful yet still subtle vibe. After all, this was my Master’s Degree I was receiving honey 💁. Since cutting my hair 💇 I have gravitated and felt edgier in my style with a hint of androgyny. I wanted a piece that combined my feminine and masculine energy. A little more sophisticated and sexy than my past looks. Immediately a suit came to mind, to be specific a red suit. You got to love a woman in a suit; this was the beginning of my transition into another stratosphere. My favorite spot to shop is Zara, so I went online to see if they had a red suit and they did 🙌. However, when I went in person, they only had white. At first, I was disappointed 😩 but then I tried it on and immediately fell in love 😍. I felt that it was kismet because they only had one left in my size. I bought it immediately. I went home and tried it on with my Haitian 🇭🇹 sash; it was perfect. A red suit would’ve been too much with the sash especially if the reds clashed.
I still wanted a bold piece that would also add an element of sexy to the outfit. I ended up purchasing a red bustier bodysuit from Boohoo.com. I tried to make sure it was a close match to the red in my sash. My grandmother bought my costume jewelry which worked perfectly. I’m so blessed 🙏 she has great taste because I had no idea what she bought until two weeks before graduation. Funny thing, my bustier didn’t come in till two days before my graduation 🤷🤦♀️. Somehow I knew that the choices I made were the right ones and that the outfit would all come together. The last item to complete the outfit was shoes 👠. I wanted red heels to match the bustier but couldn’t really find any. I had previously bought some white heels for my outfit to Diner En Blanc but because there was grass I never wore them just my sandals. 💡💡💡❗️ I thought to myself, instead of returning the white heels, I can just wear it with my graduation outfit. They had gold detailing which matched my jewelry. Everything came together perfectly 💯. I felt amazing in the outfit and received so many compliments 💃. On top of that, my graduation robe was blue, the perfect addition. Check out more pictures below.
